Yet another lovely, venerable links course. Fraserburgh golf club is yet another cracking seaside venue where subtlety always trumps aggression, and hundreds of years of history can be felt in every footstep on the lush links turf. Plenty of the par 4s are well under 360 yards, but as with all James Braid layouts, myriad dangers await the golfer who unthinkingly reaches for the wood, not least on the back nine where the rumpled fairways divert careless balls into the hungry jaws of the many bunkers. A true gem in every sense of the word.
