Course information

Once named by Golf World magazine as the top holiday golf course in the south of Scotland, Portpatrick's Dunskey course has a special clifftop location, overlooking the Irish Sea.

It was in 1902 that Mr CL Orr Ewing MP, owner of the Dunskey Estates, realised the possibilities open to Portpatrick and set about the provision of a Golf Course. In the Autumn of that year he surveyed the ground with Mr Charles Hunter, of Prestwick. The Club - Dunskey Golf Club - was opened in April of the following year, 1903, extending to over 100 acres.
In 1912 the facility was extended to form what was then a ladies course, a nine-hole, par 3s, which is now called the Dinvin course ; a fair test for regular and holiday golfers alike.
The club is now known as Portpatrick Dunskey Golf Club and it celebrated its Centenary in 2003. Since inception, the course and clubhouse have been gradually extended and improved, and a new extension to the clubhouse was completed to mark the Centenary.
