Golf World Expert Review
Not to be confused with the short Winterfield course, also in town, this is a raw, unrefined track built on a narrow strip of land between the old deer-park wall and the sea. It takes a while to warm up, with the first three holes quite flattish and unlinksy in feel, but from the 4th onwards, it needs your full attention, as clever bunkering and gorse are omnipresent,. Dunbar is not the place for a slicer, given that the boundary wall threatens all the way out, and the rocky beach is there all the way in – complete with gannets, ready to squawk their amusement.
