Course information

The Glen Golf Club is one of the most popular of East Lothian golf courses. Whether you have played golf in Scotland before, or if this is your first visit, the Glen is a golfing venue not to be missed. This North Berwick East Links course enjoys superb views across the Firth of Forth and provides an enjoyable test of golf for all levels of player.

Originally a nine-hole golf course, The Glen was extended to 18 in 1906 by James Braid and Ben Sayers.

The Glen hugs the sparkling coastline and its series of spectacular holes have great views of the Firth of Forth and Bass Rock. Woth playing if only for the 13th, a tiny blind par-3 with the beach very much in play.

Once you reach the top of the hill the views of the Bass Rock , Fife and the town are simply stunning. The course's signature hole is the 13th, or Sea Hole, as it is known. A blind par-3 to a green framed by beach and rocks to the back and right, it is Pebble Beach or Cpress POint with a Scottish twist.

The car park was full. The changing room was in a Portakabin. The range was a mile away, and there was nowhere for a quick chip and putt. Things were not looking good on TG's first Undercover foray into Scotland. But then we teed off at the Glen and everything changed. Walking up a steep hill to the first green, the view is sensational. Behind you lies the Firth of Forth and North Berwick. Beyond that is Fife, and right in front of you is Bass Rock – home to one of the world's largest seabird colonies. This is the backdrop to some of the best-value golf in the country. Much of the back nine runs along the sea, and the signature 15th is a blind par-3 with a green just feet from the beach. Anything right ends up in the sea. The Glen will be let down by its off-course facilities until an all-new £1.5m clubhouse opens this summer. We can`t wait to return to see the new set-up.
