Course information

Golfers are in for a treat at the new 18 hole Spey Valley Championship Golf Course, recently voted one of the best in Scotland by the Top 100 Golf Courses of the World. Spey Valley boasts some of the most breathtaking views in the world and course designer, Dave Thomas, refers to Spey Valley as the potential jewel in his crown. Its challenging aspects and unique Highlands environment make the course an ideal venue for high-profile tournaments and charity fundraisers.

After a hearty breakfast you'll be welcomed at the golf check-in reception, where you can hire a buggy or enjoy the walk amongst the wildlife. Bring your binoculars to spot deer, red squirrels and osprey. Then tee off towards the mountains on the driving range and play late into the long summer evenings.

Golf World Expert Review

There are more than just links in the Highlands and the best inland course is probably the newest, Spey Valley. This 2006 Dave Thomas design is, rather tediously, stretched out to 7,200 yards to ensure the attached hotel can hang the ‘championship’ tag on to it – as well as talk about the 641- yard, par-5 5th. Water comes into play frequently while the 15th is a sort of Highlands version of the 9th hole at The Belfry (another Thomas design). For all that it may not quite fit the ideal of wild and natural golf, this is a very good, very well built, very well-kept and interesting course. But best of all are the mountain views.
