Course information

Since its original design and formation by Harry Colt in 1913 Blackmoor has matured into a most beautiful heathland course which adheres to the modern tradition of the game. Stands of birch and fir abound, while fine sandy soil, firm natural turf and the heath 'rough' virtually guarantee the quality of the golf played throughout the year. The course is designed in the traditional two loops, the front nine being the outer loop and the back nine the inner loop.

Today's Golfer Expert Review

Blackmoor won't feature in many golfers' top five heathland courses in the south, but it should. This Harry Colt classic is short but tough. There are five par 3s - all raised greens - and any can wreck a card. Toughest of all is the 15th - normally into the wind and just shy of 200 yards.
