Course information

Designed by the legendary Jack Nicklaus, Hanbury Manor is a true test of nerve, character, mental and physical strength and more besides.

It first opened its doors in a blaze of publicity in 1990, and since then has gone on to become one of the most well respected and well known golfing venues in the region.

As you'd expect, it is kept in outstanding condition all year round and has hosted the English Open on the European Tour with many of the game's greats treading its immaculately manicured fairways.

Parkland courses don't get much better than this. No wonder Hanbury staged three English Opens between 1999-99 and Paul Gascoigne got married here! The only snag is you have to stay at the admittedly superb, but costly, on-site Marriott hotel to tee it up (unless you know a member), but it's well worth the effort and dosh if you've got plenty of the latter to spare that is. Hanbury has two contrasting nines: the front nine is open, exposed and undulating while the back nine is flatter as it weaves its way through woodland and involves a lot more water, rounding-off with a twisting par 5 to an uphill green beyond a pond followed by a thrilling finale and a testing drive over another lake...hopefully.
