Course information

As a course it has what may conveniently be descibed as a split personality, the first nine holes being fairly open and the second nine possessing a charateristic commonly associated with heathland golf - a profusion of gorse which makes some of the fairways alarmingly narrow. Even though it is a short course, in winds that never miss those exposed parts, it frequently must seem to play about twice its normal length.

A great heathland layout with lots of gorse, fine turf and great greens. This short but demanding old-fashioned layout - opened in 1922 - provides an enjoyable experience. Say your prayers at the par-3 7th - the raised green is guarded by a steep bank running down to a pond, reputed to be a Holy Well.
