I think you may be right, although I hope not. I had my forum rant 10 days ago and came up with a few faults in the set up of the forum with Scottyfan adding a few more. There plenty of people lurking just not may participating.
 

I had a look at a few of the other magazine forums and picked a post from each showing participation-

Golf Monthly- 300views 33replys

Todays Golfer- 300 views 8replys (Best I could find)

Bunkered- 1400views 9 replys (Best I could find)

TG is not the worst but you can see from above the one that is being used the most. The Bunkered magazine forum is barely used. Todays Golfer is used but only a few serial forumers which is a shame because I think it is the best magazine and with the amount of subscribers to the forum and a few changes ot the set up it should be a lot better.

I have been a memeber for a while but never used it due to the lack of users. As a magazine i much prefer TG to other monthly publications and was hoping this forum would be reflective of the magazines popularity. Hopefully with a few tweeks to the forum and more promotion in the mag this place couild take off,i for one will be on here more often,hopefully others will follow.

I've never posted on here before, having browsed the GM forums a bit and added just one post on there - came here expecting it would be a bit more lively. I do admit lurkers like me should probably get more involved, it's just picking your moment, maybe?

To be honest, though, I find it quite weird that any car I buy I can go online and join a thriving forum to discuss all the quirks / faults / idiosyncrasies of that model but as a golfer, if I want to discuss my round today or wax lyrical about my swing flaws, there's nowhere really happening. Surely, there's more golfers out there wanting to talk about the infuriuating intricacies of this game?

i started a forum post yesterday on here and another of my forums. on here it is 10 views no replies yet on my other its 274 views and 20 replies. TG forum is useless if im honest. nobody wants to talk about the game and all to do with golf. yet my other forum has loads of people chatting all the time. one post is 943200 views and 74876 replies. you would never see that on here. its a forum with alot of potential but sadly never gets there.
