The difficult second set!

Hi all.

I've been playing occasionally for a couple of years now with my Wilson starter set. This got me into the game quickly and relatively cheaply (in golf terms) and has served me well. Now I find that I've got the golf bug, have joined a society and am looking to make 2012 'the year of golf'.

With that in mind, I'm looking to purchase a new set of irons - ones that will last me another 3 years but also provide good game improvement support, whilst I improve my own skills, during that time. I'm currently playing off ...

New Golfer. Looking for driver.

Hi all,

Very new to golf, and this forum. Been looking through threads for a couple of days and decided to join to get a little help on selecting a driver.

I started hitting golf balls just under 4 weeks ago on a driving range, never on a course yet.

only started as my son, (8 yr old), has lessons every saturday and wants me to take it up so i can go on course with him. Great little golfer. Hits driver 80% of the time 100-120 yards.

My New Years Resolution

I've recently read about a number of golfers doing these amazing challenges such as getting to scratch in 12 months and qualifying for The Open etc so I have decided that I am going to set myself a challenge, or rather a New Years Resolution.

My decision is to get into shape, give up cigars, eat healthier, and top of the list, to improve my game. I'm hoping the first 3 will actually aid the latter.

So.. The plan:

To get from just under 14.5 stone to 13 and get to a constant sub 90 on the course (my club is a par 70)
