Today's Golfer is delighted to announce a new addition to writers in the blog section.

In addition to the insightful Gary Wolstenhome and David West, cricket legend Andrew 'Freddie' Flintoff will be keeping us up-to-date from now on with his progress as he takes up golf properly for the first time since retiring from cricket last year.

Gary Wolstenholme will be challenging for titles on the European Senior Tour this year while David West will be battling it out to go from complete novice to scratch golfer in just 12 months.

They may have very different objective, but all three men - like us - share a love for the game of golf. Follow their stories here...

GARY WOLSTENHOLME

Gary Wolstenholme MBE was the most successful British amateur of the modern era before he turned professional to pursue a career on the European Seniors Tour. He made his debut at Woburn earlier this year and won his first Seniors Tour tournament in only his second start at the Casa Serena Open to secure his card for 2011. Wolstenholme will be writing an exclusive blog for Today's Golfer, and his first entry focusses on his preparation for the new season and his third-place finish at the Australian Senior Open last weekend.

FREDDIE FLINTOFF

Cricket legend Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff is known in a sporting capacity on the cricket pitch for frightening batsmen with his vicious pace bowling and clattering huge sixes into the stands. But following his retirement from the game last year, Freddie has turned to golf to fill the void. A new member of the De Vere Club, Freddie plans to take the game up seriously, having regular lessons and friendly rounds to help him take the money from his celebrity mates and enjoy the game as much as he can.

DAVID WEST

In August 42-year-old David West set himself the target of going from a complete novice golfer to a scratch player in just 12 months. He had his first lesson on August 11 and has been making great progress for the past few months with the help of Wilson Golf. Now David has broken 100 for the first time he will be blogging about his journey on the Today's Golfer website every other Friday, starting today, until he hopefully achieves his goal at the end of the summer.
