Thomas Bjorn claimed a dramatic victory at the Johnnie Walker Championship after a five-man play-off.

Bjorn has had a good season after winning in Qatar and challenging at The Open and he wrapped up his second Euorpean Tour event of the year at Gleneagles.

Bjorn shot a 69 in the final round to get to 11 under. He joined Mark Foster, George Coetzee, Bernd Wiesberger and Pablo Larrazabal.

Foster had one-shot lead on the 18th tee but an errant drive meant he could only manage a bogey six.

In the play-off it came down to Coetzee and Bjorn as the rest fell by the wayside. The 40-year-old Dane bagged his third birdie on the fifth extra hole to claim his second victory of the year.

Bjorn said: "I played fantastic on Thursday and I played great today."

The win leaves Bjorn eighth in the Race to Dubai ranking with Luke Donald leading the way, but there is a lot of golf to be played before the Dubai World Championship in December.
