Game improver irons are a funny breed - we know they'll help our game but many of us just can't bring ourselves to use them because we don't like the way they look. The Mizuno MX-1000 irons are seeking to change that!

Designed with a hollow construction and hot metal steel face, these are as forgiving as they come as well as producing a high launch and powerful flight.

However, Mizuno have packed these benefits into a very reasonably-sized head with a top line that shouldn't put traditional players off and a sole that allows a good level of turf interaction.

To see if the MX-1000's really do cut the mustard David Connor, TG Equipment Editor, and Features Writer Kit Alexander took them out on the range for a hit. You can see how they got on in the video below.
