MOI is the buzz phrase in golf equipment this year, but what’s it all about? Manufactuers tell us that a higher MOI – or moment of interia – helps the ball go straighter, whether it’s with a driver or a putter.

Some of the biggest new equipment launches of the year – including Callaway’s FT-I driver, Nike’s square Sumo, Titleist’s D1 and TaylorMade’s Burner, all make a big thing of having a high MOI.

So we asked our friends at Golf Digest in the USA to talk us through what it all actually means...in English... well, American anyway!
