Fancy a golfing step back into time? If so, the 2nd Open Hickory Golf Team Challenge at Hartley Wintney GC, Hampshire, on Friday May 8 should do the trick.

With the players using ancient hickory 'sticks' and wearing the golfing attire of the golden era of golf, it promises to be a great day's golf and bags of fun.

And it's all in a good cause too. It's being organised by the Glad's House charity with the proceeds raised going towards under-privileged kids in Kenya.

Plenty of trophies will be up for grabs including one for the best costume of the day and there will even be a special putting competition...using replica 'gutty' balls of course!

Format for the day: Four-ball stableford competition (2 best scores to count); Maximum handicaps: 28 for men & 36 for women; First tee-off time is 10am and there will be an afternoon barbecue followed by a prizegiving, raffle, charity auction and entertainment.

Cost is £390 per team. For more info call 01256 766263, e-mail
