FootJoy Golf Equipment
For nearly 150 years, FootJoy has been committed to creating superior golf footwear, gloves, and accessories. And for more than 55 years, FootJoy has been the leading golf shoe on the PGA tour.
In 1857, the Burt and Packard Shoe Company was founded in Brockton, Massachusetts. It was soon renamed Field and Flint Company and in 1927 they launched a FootJoy line of golf shoes which were the official shoe for that year's American Ryder Cup team captained by Walter Hagen.
One of their keynote shoes in this long history was launched in 1989 when DryJoys were introduced. At a time when the waterproofness of golf shoes was highly debatable, the DryJoys set the standard for waterproof golf shoe technology.
Seven years later the DryJoys Leather System – non-membrane waterproof technology – was introduced, further revolutionising the golf shoe industry. DryJoys with IntelliGelTM Fit-Bed were also launched, providing temperature responsive arch support.
In 2004 the Classics Tour shoe was released, which draws on the heritage of the brand and infuses elegant calfskin leather styling with the best in outsole technology.
MyJoys hit Britain in 2005 and allowed golfers to customise their shoes and the following year the ReelFit was introduced, allowing golfers to fasten their shoes without laces.
DryJoys were relaunched in 2007 boasting new technologies and two years later SYNR-G models were released offering lighter leather specification and a more tailored, conforming fit.
And in 2010 the FJ Icon shoe – drawing on design inspiration from over 100 years of experience – was launched alongside the FJ SPORT shoe, a sleek, new model aimed at the younger market.
Adding to the DryJoys, Icon, Sport and Icon in the current range are the XPS-1 (taking stability to new levels), the Countour – for extreme flexibility – and the lightweight AQL.
FootJoy are also leaders in the glove market with their StaSof glove and PureTouch highly desirable.
