Not a golf club everyone is going to love, because the head is very different from most 460cc drivers. But the two-colour head is effective at focusing your eye on the smaller portion of the head, and you don’t really notice the half-moon-shaped weighting system at the back.

Give it a try and you’ll soon realise that Nike’s talk of geometry makes the Nike SasQuatch extremely forgiving on off-centre hits, and the big head behind the golf ball does boost confidence. In our hands it wasn’t the longest-hitting golfb club. It did, however, put in an impressive performance on the accuracy test, and it’s a great all-round package.

We think the Nike SasQuatch sets a new benchmark in driver design; expect to hear more about head efficiency from other manufacturers in the near future. We think this golf club has the necessary wow factor to warrant some serious attention, which alongside a very strong performance in all areas, helps to make the game a lot of fun.
