The R11 may grab most of the headlines, but if you want to plonk a driver behind the ball and whack away, the new Burner could be for you. It may not be adjustable, but it’s full of innovation. The longer shaft means more yards – TaylorMade claim it gives a whopping seven yards more than the previous model. It’s also TaylorMade's lightest ever driver so it’s easier to get great clubhead speed and therefore distance. And, like the R11, the Burner is white for easier ball alignment.

Comments: Many of you will have seen our impressive coverage of TaylorMade’s new whit-headed woods around the New Year, but if you thought it was just hype you were sorely mistaken. The SuperFast product performed sensationally, and only Bryan was slightly off put by the colour of the head.
Tipping the scales at 279g, this is the lightest driver the company have ever produced, and the boys recorded some great distance – Chris in particular, was very long with it, and his average carry of 286 yards (on a dismal day!) was comfortably his longest.
The new headshape and inverted cone technology means the driver’s sweetspot is the largest of any TaylorMade driver and a super-tight consistency rate from three of the four testers helped to illustrate this, although the boys did actually mark it down for forgiveness – it just shows how important and useful the likes of Trackman is when it comes to seeing what works for you.
Perhaps the final word should be on the colour head – it’s certainly different, but Darren felt the white head actually made it easier to align. And that is exactly what the colour is supposed to do.
