Golf equipment review for the Callaway X Series Fairway Wood
Our test pro wasn’t overly excited by the Callaway X Series, as he struggled to hit the 7-wood consistently well. We didn’t have that problem, but the Callaway X Series wouldn’t be our first choice 7-wood golf club. Some of the other test golf clubs visibly performed better, and the Callaway X Series just failed to ignite our imagination. The small head nestles in longer grass easier than the other 7-woods, and the relatively low, penetrating golf ball flight would be useful for the golfer craving distance. But it’s not great if versatility is what you’re after, and there are better options available. We’d suggest the Callaway FT-Hybrid as a great alternative 7-wood: its shorter shaft increases confidence, consistency and accuracy, which should help you to score better.
