Ping fairway woods are engineered to provide you performance and reliability from all types of lies and conditions. In Ping's Rapture V2, the density and shape of the tungsten sole plate positions the centre of gravity (CG) for higher launching, longer flying shots. Each is designed with a high-forgiveness factor and optimal centre of gravity location to deliver longer, higher-launching shots. Through Ping's industry-leading, custom-fitting process, you can determine your ideal combination of irons, hybrids and fairway woods to help you play your best.
The concentration of the 61gm tungsten sole plate, which represents 34% of the club head’s mass, allowed Ping engineers to move the CG location lower and farther from the face for increased launch and lower spin.

Review from the magazine
TG rating
The Ping Rapture V2 Fairway Wood has a shallow face so it sits much better behind the ball, inspiring confidence off the ground. The stainless steel head ensures stability and forgiveness while producing a high trajectory.
It is fitted with 16 degrees of loft, whereas most 3-woods come in a 15-degree loft. This made it easy to get the ball airborne off the deck as well as off the tee. And if you're not that comfortable with your driver off the tee, this is certainly a decent option.
The early signes are promising for this new V2 version. A tungsten sole plate gives a lower centre of gravity for higher launch and lower spin. A step up from the previous Rapture.
Pro says: You get powerful shots from this shallow-faced head.
