Since the introduction of hybrids, many golfers have been confused about what clubs to swap them for. Wilson Staff has identified this dilemma and designed FYbrids – fairway utility clubs – that can replace any club in your bag from driver to 6-iron. The big clubhead of the FYbrid 3-wood is ideally suited to replace your driver on long, narrow par 5s or tricky par 4s where you need accuracy. It’s slightly harder to sweep off the fairway than others, but the strike feels solid and forgiving. One more thing: don’t squint or you’ll miss the tiny alignment aid!

Review from the magazine
TG rating
Impressive Wilson FYbrid worked for everyone and is highly recommended. Padraig Harrington is a big fan and the 19.5° version is a great way to bridge the gap between irons and woods.
Pro says: Stylish club which sits nicely. I enjoyed the powerful ball flight.
2009 Review
A split decision in our team on this wood-cum-hybrid. Opinion was divided on the looks of this club with George and Chris N feeling it looked more like a larger hybrid club than a 3-wood. In actual fact, this is exactly what it is designed to do – bridge the gap between fairway woods and hybrids. George loved the performance in all situations while Chris N enjoyed hitting it off the fairway and from the rough. In contrast, Kit and pro Chris found it to be a better bet off the tee because of the deeper face and more penetrating ball flight. Very much a split decision!

Two testers felt the deeper face made the Wilson FYbrid a great option off the tee.
