The Burner iron franchise has been one of the most successful in TaylorMade’s history and with the 2.0 model the company have really looked to move this on a notch. The previous model was designed in pods of two or three irons so that long irons performed differently from the mid and short irons. However, this time round TaylorMade engineers have designed each club independently so they can more precisely place the CG to optimise the launch of each club. The irons also feature TaylorMade’s inverted cone technology which has been around for a few years and is designed to improve ball speed on off-centre strikes. However, again this technology has been slightly tweaked in each individual club so it is strategically placed throughout the set.
