I went into my local club pro shop at the weekend and asked to have a crack with the cobra baffler and was sure i was going to add it to my bag, my pro asked me to have a go with the new ping g10 rescue. After hitting 10 balls with each club i was amazed at how straight and how far the ping g10 went! i'm a low handicapper but my freind who is a high handicapper can still hit it very well. I have the 21 degree version and in goes consitantly around the 200 yard mark so it is perfect for par 4s or long par 3s off the tee. Basically buy one! XD Chris

I had a shot of the new hybrid 24 degree at American Discount. This would be the equivalent of a 4 iron. I found this a very easy club to hit and being a high handicapper even when i didn't strike exactly in the sweet spot the ball flight was straight and with a reasonable amount of distance. The ball flies of the clubface with plenty of loft and at least 20 yards more than my 4 iron. I also tried the r7 draw 25 degree but for me the Ping G10 didn't have as fat a feel when hitting the ball. Definately going to replace my 3 and 4 irons with these.

Ping G10 not as steep......

I have just invested in a G10 rescue club which was a bit of a leap. I have always bought cobra but i went into A Golf and had a go of various clubs, The baffler and the new wilsons, mitzunos ect. Then the sales dude said the new G10s are out i immediatly said sorry mate the missues wont stretch to £150, he said they are the same price as the baffler. So I got it out and had a whack OMG sweet as a autumn apple. So now I have one, sitting in my bag, thing is i have OCD. Which means i have to have all PINGs From now on. The wife has metioned counciling but hey how else will i get all pings in my bag:tongue::blink:

I totally agree I was about to buy the G5 driver from a Ping custom fit centre in july and would feel exactly the same if I had gone ahead and purchased it then found out two months later it had been superseded by the G10 at the same price as the G5. C'mon Ping get your act together and give us ordinary punters a fair deal.

I've spent over £1,000 in 2007 buying a full set of G5 clubs (irons, woods, putter). At no time did any salesman tell me that they were being superseded or did they give me a discount because they were "end of life". I feel as though I've been robbed.
