Fizz those irons... You always know when you've struck an iron shot sweetly, it feels effortless and fizzes off the golf clubface with control. The pure strike sounds solid as the ball compresses off the clubface with the turf. There are three main faults that ruin the chances of golfers achieving a pure strike. Nick Bradley shows you how to identify them and then rid them from your game.

STRIKE THE IRONS PURE
When a Pro hits an iron, there is a very distinct sound. This occurs because the club face presses the ball into the turf and the ball shoots off.
You too can get this clear sharp sound, but several things need to be present.
There are two clear faults that can be seen in many amatuer golfers.
1. Casting - This occurs when, at the top of the swing, the club gets thrown out from the body and creates a dropkick sensation when it hits the ball and this doesn't create the strike we want. This occurs when the golfer has too tight a grip on the club. The club gets thrown out due to the tightness in the arm. to improve this, loosen the grip in tyour hands and wrists to create lag and a better strike.
2. A second fault is most players when they swing lean in and out of it. By keeping your belt line level with the ground at all times your straightening your posture and reducing the chance of casting occuring.
