A golf hole may not always appear to be as long as the scorecard claims.

Golf course architects have clever ways to play tricks on our mind, by placing hazards at the back of the green for instance. When in doubt, trust the yardage. Despite what you see, you have to go with the card, as Nick Bradley explains.
