Bedfordshire Golf Club

What we say

Bedforshire Golf Club has two courses on offer; the main 18-hole Stagsden course and the 9-hole Academy course.

The Stagsden course is well known locally for its excellent maintenance all year round. Because it isn't long by modern standards, the course has been adapted and shaped to favour position and accuracy rather than distance, with many tricky approaches to well-guarded greens.

The Academy course is an excellent place for beginners to learn the game or even for more experienced golfers looking to sharpen their skills and, like the Stagsden, the course is well-maintained all year round. You can play it for as little as £6.50 during the week.

  • 5 out of 5 Just gets better

From the outset you realise that the course is not only a challenge but also requires a great deal of course management. Despite it being winter the greens were very quick and reacted to the slightest movement. The fairways still had good roll and the tees were even without the usual divots everywhere. Everyone at the course was friendly and welcoming and with great facilities I would have to say that having played most of the courses around Bedford, this one is a true great all-rounder and well worth the visit.

  • 5 out of 5 Fantastic!

I've been a member here at The Bedfordshire since October 2010 having been a member of the Academy course, I decided to try the 'Real thing' The course is fantastic, very well maintained, every hole a challenge and the greens can really test your putter. The front nine is great, you get the feeling of ' Yep this isn't so bad' although the first tee is very daunting with the 2 oak trees right infront of you! but the back nine is a whole different ball game, and you really need to be on top of your Drive. The fairways can catch you out as they run with the lie of the land. Two water hazards are waiting for you on the 14th par 5 and 15th par 3. On the whole a great course which never seems to play the same. The wind is a major factor on the course though, and if you play there a lot like I do, its something that you quickly have to get used to. Great pro shop with a 24 bay floodlit driving range. Club house with great food. What more could you ask for !!
