A fine parkland alternative to the classy nearby links of Royal Lytham, the former Open final qualifying venue was once considered something of a stroll in the park. But not any more….

It may be a pleasant parkland walk about a mile from the Fylde coast but it’s pretty tight and the small greens mean your approach play needs to be precise with little room for error.

Lytham Green Drive Golf Club is well established and has been around since 1913. However, it has undergone major surgery in recent times to meet the demands of the modern game and golfer. The two new par 4 2nd and 3rd holes certainly need to be treated with respect.

     From the previous reviews on here alls I can say since 2008 is come back the work that's been done on this course has been remarkable , the course is great, new drains new t beds and greens, come and enjoy a warm welcome as we did, I liked it that much I joined!!!!

    played there at the end of october,a warm greeting awaited us on arrival,unfortunately that as good as it got,the course should have been shut,very very wet,uncut fairways,unplayable really,not worth the £45 fees.came off after 10 holes.save it for summer if you must play it folks.can't fault the facilities though.

    Green fees were quite expensive for what I considered a very ordinary course. The design of a couple of holes was good. The fairways were more like rough though!!!! Not one I will be playing again!!!
