  • 3.5 out of 5 Beauchief

The course itself although not very long is a tough one to play. There are numerous holes that although they appear easy are actually quite difficult to play. Star of the course for me is the par 3 11th. You have to play to an uphill green over water with rough in front of the green. If you are after a testing course where you are going to get value for your money this is the one.

this course is in my home town of sheffield, and is one of four municipals in the city. The clubhouse has the feel of a private course and as such can be a bit oftputting at first, the course itself is fairly short but challenging and has some visually attractive holes, the fairways are narrow and are bordered by woodland. I have played the course during winter and it does seem to have a tendency to hold water on certain holes, the greens are well maintained and run true. The course does get busy so booking a time is a must
