It's well laid out with just enough fairway and green traps to make you think about your game, but not ruin it. The course is also well maintained. The star hole has to be the 16th, a real risk-reward par-5 over a large water hazard.

Definitely worth a visit

Wellshurst is maturing nicely since its opening in the mid nineties and £24 for a weekend visitor represents excellent value. There are still plenty of staked trees in places but the fairways and greens are as good as you find at far more pricey venues. Except for the 11th, the course is not particularly demanding or long.
