Guildford Golf Club

What we say

Founded in 1886, Guildford is the oldest course in Surrey and is probably the driest – the downland layout rolls over chalk-based terrain so your virtually guaranteed a game. The short par-4 4th is the highest point of the course with stunning views of four counties.

Founded in 1886 by Colonel W Bannatyne, Major W Pontifex and Mr E L Hooper, Guildford Golf Club is the oldest Club in Surrey! The course was originally opened with just six holes, however the course was extended to eighteen holes in 1901 and a new Clubhouse was built on the present site.

Located on the Merrow Downs, this club is an example of a traditional downland course offering a challenging round to even an experienced golfer!

You can take advantage of exceptional views from each hole, including a panoramic view of the Surrey countryside and views of Guildford Cathedral, the Wembley Arch and the City of London

Played June 09. Save your 2-1 vouchers for this one, the course is doing a half price green fee. £25 each and it is well worth it. Fantastic course, lovely lay out lovely greens and tees, couldn't  fault it in any way. From the moment you stand on the first tee and look to the green the Wow factor begins, just wonderful. I have played almost a hundred courses now around kent, surrey and sussex and I rate this as one of the best. If you like to play good tracks this is a must. The welcome was great and even the food was great .                                 Course 10/10 Burger 8/10
