The Kames Country Club – Mouse Valley Course

What we say

The Championship Mouse Valley Course opened in July 1993. The course, playable over a number of distances presents a fair and demanding test of golf club selection, course management and knowledge of striking distances.

As the majority of amateur golfers 'slice' the ball, the course is designed to play clockwise which means that the perimeter out of bounds hazard is always on the 'hook' side of the course. Many of the holes present the golfer with a risk and reward approach. Risk the more difficult or longer shot and the reward will be the ideal approach into the green with mid to short irons.

Mouse Valley course is a championship course and currently is one of the longest courses in Lanarkshire standing at 6650 yards from the black tee's. Each hole is unique and you will not find two holes the same. The 13th stands at 553 yards and for the big hitters its two big strikes to get home but we also have a par 3 only 95 yards long, but be aware its called "oh dear".

new facilities are good, pro is excellent, staff are very friendly, food is good. Shame you have to play golf. brilliant layout with massie potential, wasted by lack of investment on course. bunkers are poor, mostly bare patches around greens, greens are same as rest of course but cut shorter. need to dig them up and put proper baselayers under them. basically if you are on pub outing this is the place

Very poor course, the tees and greens are appalling, especially the greens, bunkers are negligible as all the sand has been washed out them, there is nothing to recommend this course i'm afraid.please keep your money and visit another course, very very disapointing day out.
