What we say...

The Ping Rapture Driver uses carbon composite and titanium in a powerful and forgiving head designed to be easy to hit, long and high fl ying. Our pro’s stats backed this up and we think this is a fab choice for golfers looking for extra carry, hangtime and distance. The Rapture looks nice too and sounds pure at impact due to acoustic engineering.

Pro Verdict: A good looking solid driver which produced impressive stats for me although I still prefer its better (and cheaper!) G10 sister.

Tester Comments: “Very pure-feeling strikes”… “Looks extremely classy. Extremely consistent, forgiving and the longest for me”… “Classic shape is very hittable and lives up to expectations”.

Titanium carbon composite club designed to create a powerful and forgiving option off the tee.

  • 4 out of 5 Ping Rapture 9° Driver

    By lammysmgc

Ordered one of these after a fitting in January to replace my G5 Driver of which the face had split just 3 months after purchase (Was not happy about that!) Got the Rapture with the VS Proto 65X shaft and was fitted with it purely because upon test at Gainsborough I was knocking the balls out of the range into the main road with it. I'm a pure distance junkie, wasn't too worried about the few draws or fades I hit just how far it went. Worked very well that day on their range. Upon receipt of the club I had some mixed results with it. I had some good shots and good rounds with it, but also had some horrible days. Mostly the horrible days were on occasions where it was rather windy. As with all recent Ping Drivers G2, G5 and now Rapture they just hit the ball too high. Designed obviously for the mass market the technology is designed to get the ball airbourne. Great for Beginners and 25+ handicappers but for a <16 handicapper I don't need the club helping to hit the ball into the air. Basically as my swing improved from tuition I hit the driver higher and higher and on windy days got demoralised with it working against me. So bagged it for a Titleist 907D1 which hits a much lower flight. I'd recommend the Driver to most people, okay the price is expensive but its a well designed and put together bit of kit. However if your a powerful person who gives the ball a good whack, you may find it flies too high with too much spin for your liking.

  • 5 out of 5 Ping Rapture 10.5 degree driver

after finding out that my old driver was not allowed in competitions next year I decided to bite the bullet and buy a new one. I got with the pro at my club and tried out a few on offer. The G5 seemed to be the one for me until he handed me the rapture. as soon as the club face made contact with the ball I knew that I was in for a treat. Playing off 22 I wouldn't call myself a consistand driver off the tee but the ball not only went straight! but long as well! I'd say 10-15yards longer than the G5. I have only had the rapture for a couple of weeks and love it! I'm hitting more fairways now than I had ever dreamed possible! AWESOME!! thank you Ping!!

  • 5 out of 5 Ping Rapture 10.5 degree driver

In the process of being fitted for my new i5 irons (which I love) I asked the ping fitter to have a look at my G5 9 degree driver. He was surprised that I wuld use such low loft (5 handicap) and suggested 10.5, which I grudgingly tried. It went so well he brought out a Rapture and after trying several shafts I was given the Aldila VS Proto 65 stiff and it felt fantastic - so much so I bought one! More of a record than you think as I have always bought cast offs from mates before but Rapture rules in my book well done Ping.
