What we say...

Hippo ITX 2

The huge chunky head of this model could well put many people off. But you really should see past this and give the ITX 2 a try as they perform remarkably well. We feel this is a classic example of how modern technology can help make a run-of-the-mill club of this nature feel and perform well.

Although neither of us really liked the look of the club we found ourselves hitting shots long and straight time after time. The feel of this huge head was remarkable which can only be put down to the graphite insert which runs through each head.

The combination of the lightweight steel shaft and large head, work well together and the ball seems to zip off the face faster than most others on test. The shorter irons were a little more difficult to wield at short range around the greens do to their size, but a higher handicap player could learn to love these.

Verdict: They may not be pretty… but they work. They are forgiving and give good distance. They feel a bit clunky on short shots but their size does inspire confidence. Great value.
