What we say...

The Nike Victory Red split-cavity irons have a slightly wider sole and a thicker topline than the blades. A split back design puts the centre of gravity behind the sweetspot for a higher, more forgiving trajectory. They’re also more offset.

2009 Review

Jon had used these Nike Victory Red split-cavity irons before and said he knew they were powerful as well as forgiving. But Tom felt differently, and didn’t get as much help on off centre hits as he was expecting. They look good though and had impressive performance stats.

2010 Review:

Nike’s VR range contains three sets, and this is the middle one, designed for better players who want a little more forgiveness than the true blade might offer. Dave was a massive fan of the address look and said the performance more than matched the cool aesthetics. Jon also liked the looks and commented that they felt fairly forgiving too. Chris was our only tester who had a bad word to say, by suggesting he didn’t get as much feedback as from some others in this
category. He felt everything else was top-notch. Dave also commented that shots out of the middle of the clubhead went like a missile on a piercing, true flight.

Nike’s Victory Red Forged Split Cavity irons have a moderately wider sole and slightly thicker topline than the Victory Red TW Blades.

Still maintaining a traditional look with a high degree of workability, the Victory Red Forged Split Cavity includes a split back design that positions the centre of gravity behind the sweet spot for ball control while providing forgiveness.

The Victory Red Forged Split Cavity irons are made of 1025 Forged Carbon Steel and are machined to precise tolerances to optimise feel and accuracy.

The CNC Milled Face ensures uniform ball compression for consistent ball flight and distance control. Differentiating slightly from the Victory Red TW Blades, the Victory Red Forged Split Cavity provides a higher trajectory and is more forgiving.

The loft and lie of the Victory Red Forged Split Cavity irons are the same as the Victory Red TW Blades so can be combined for the perfect set, although the Victory Red Forged Split Cavity irons do have more offset than the blades.

The Nike VR Split-Cavity Irons won a silver award in this years Today's Golfer, in issue 270.

Love the look of these clubs at address, they sit well with a nice topline and you cant see the cavity at all at address.  I find they are well balanced throughout the set with each club producing a predictable ball flight with the added confidence of a cavity to help with off centre strikes.  Overall a very impressive set of irons definatelly as good, if not better than Titleist AP2's.

I had the Nike ProCombos before these and hit them pretty well.. but these split-cavbity's are a revelation. I used to hesitate hitting much more than a 6-iron in a competitive round, but now i am very confident with my 5-iron and will attempt shots with the 4...not quite got the bottle for a 3iron yet! Clean and simply to lookat, nice at adress and i hit them high and long...  i am looking forward to many more rounds with these beauties!
