The insert feels great, and the way the putter makes you rock your shoulders gets the putter travelling on a straight-down-the-line motion.

What we say...

You only have to pick up the Odyssey White Hot XG 9 putter to realise it has been designed for Phil Mickelson’s game.

If you don’t like getting your hands in front of the ball, don’t go near it. If you can putt like Mickelson, this really works. The insert feels great, and the way the putter makes you rock your shoulders gets the putter travelling on a straight-down-the-line motion.

Definitely a putter to try before you buy. But if you do, make sure you make maximum use of the nifty casino chip ball marker inside the headcover!

Odyssey XG9 has a new multi-layer insert and soft elastomer core, combined with firm urethane outer striking surface.

Having tried this putter in an American Golf store I knew I had to buy one! I scoured the internet and in the end found one for £50! It has been the best value for money purchase ever! From being a GIR player and 3 putt for a round of 90 player this putter has transformed my game! I shot a 77 only 2 weeks ago and I am still not fully fit from after an operation yet!! However be warned the TG review is very accurate! Must try before you buy and like to keep your hands forward through impact. However the quality and feel of this putter is immaculate! It only failed to get 5 stars due the head cover which is a joke!

Having got on well initially with this putter,I have since found myself struggling with my putting overall this season. Absolutely true about needing to keep hands forward when making a stroke with this one. Also, very annoyingly the putter cover is a disaster and insists on falling off all of the time if you carry your clubs as I do. It just does not fit and I have had to take measures to make sure I don't lose it!!
