IMO stands for Inline Momentum and the Rife IMO Putter is designed to give just that, momentum along the chosen line.

By placing 85% of the putters mass directly behind the ball Rife has reduced the chance of decelerating through the ball and deviation from the chosen path – it has created Inline Momentum.

The IMO is a face balanced putter with the shaft inline with the putters concentration of mass promoting an extremely stable, on plane stroke path. With 85% of the putters total mass placed directly behind the ball, the putter head drives through the point of impact.

Rife decided to move away from the modern trend of peripheral weighting and high Moment of Inertia and place as much weight directly behind the ball as was legally possible. Not only did Rife find that this gave an increase in momentum through the ball, it also took away the need for a high MOI as it was incredibly difficult to get the putter to twist at impact.
