The Irish qualifier for the Waterways Ireland World Corporate Golf Challenge takes place in the gorgeous surroundings of Lough Erne Resort on Tuesday September 25.

An event which takes place in more than 20 countries world-wide, to date over 1 million golfers have taken part since the inception of the Waterways Ireland World Corporate Golf Challenge in 1993.

The Waterways Ireland World Corporate Golf Challenge offers amateur golf players from small or large companies the opportunity to enhance staff relationships, meet new clients and suppliers, and most importantly, represent their company and country in a prestigious worldwide corporate golf tournament.

This year The Faldo Course at Lough Erne Resort, in its spectacular setting, nestled on a private 600-acre peninsula between Lower Lough Erne & Castle Hume Lough, will play host to the 2012 Ireland Qualifier with an opening ceremony and drinks reception taking place for competitors the evening before on “Kestrel”, a boat which will be moored on Lough Erne Resort’s jetty.

With an entry fee of £220 per team of 2, this cost includes 18 holes on the Faldo Course at Lough Erne, designed by 6 time major winner Sir Nick Faldo, breakfast on arrival, buffet lunch and gift bag, a range of water based activities on Lough Erne for competitors throughout the day and, of course, the possibility of an all-expenses paid trip (flights, golf, all WCGC official functions) to represent Ireland at the 2013 World Final!

Head of Marketing & Communications with Waterways Ireland Éanna Rowe stated “Waterways Ireland is delighted to welcome the World Corporate Golf Challenge to Lough Erne. Hosting such a prestigious event allows for the showcasing of the waterways and water-based activities. I am sure the participants will enjoy their experience of wonderful Lough Erne”

Lynn McCool, Director of Golf and Head Professional at Lough Erne Resort, is very much looking forward to the qualifier. “These events are always great fun, and very competitive! Representing not only your company but potentially also your country adds an extra dimension to the day. We’re looking forward to a big turn out and an exciting tournament for the Waterways Ireland World Corporate Golf Challenge.”
