The inaugural Today’s Golfer Travel Awards proved a massive hit last year, fully living up to the belief that the annual awards are set to become the ‘Oscars’ of the golf travel world.
And it’s that time of the year again when you, the knowledgeable, much-travelled legion of Today’s Golfer readers and golfers, can vote for your favourite courses, hotels and resorts and put them on top of the pile of the UK and continental Europe.
Last year you literally voted in your thousands across all 21 categories with Portugal’s stunning Algarve picking up the coveted Best Value Golf Destination (Continental Europe) prize. The Algarve emerged handsome victors from nearest challengers Turkey followed by Spain’s Costa Brava and Costa del Sol. Will the Algarve pull it off again? The choice, once again, is all yours…
The inaugural awards were also memorable for top Ryder Cup resorts the K Club (Ireland), Celtic Manor (Wales) and The Belfry (England) who all celebrated double best course and hotel/resort successes.
The race for Scotland’s ‘Best Course’ title could be particularly interesting this time round. Last year it was won by the iconic Old Course at St Andrews but the Home of Golf and the other legendary candidates could be under threat from the new course on the block – the awesome Trump International which opened in Aberdeen in the summer. Or may be it’s too early for the breathtaking but controversial links which owner Trump claims to be the “best golf course in the world?” But it’s your votes that will decide…
Once again, the TG Travel Awards are being sponsored by premier UK-based golf tour operator Your Golf Travel who have donated a fantastic golf break prize to one lucky voter who will be impressively rewarded simply for making their selections. Remember though, you can only win this super prize if you’ve actually voted. The prize on offer this year is one night B&B at the superb Troon-managed Prince’s Golf Club and Lodge at Sandwich, Kent, and two rounds on the magical links of Prince’s GC for four people.
So here’s your big chance to reward a venue which has given you either a great day out or a golf break to remember this year. The lists here are just a guide and feature many strong candidates. However, you’ll also find some surprise packages and if there’s a hidden gem you’ve experienced, you can still pick that venue via the ‘your choice’ option.
