2-FORE!-1 Six of the Best

2-FORE!-1 Golf boasts 900-plus course members all over the country and picking one out is no easy task so every week we look to give 2-FORE!-1ers a much needed helping hand and guide. So this week’s 2-FORE!-1 selections are:

*Seascale, Cumbria (pictured) – Links golf isn’t all about the superstars of St Andrews, Muirfield, Royal Birkdale you know. It’s all about unsung heroes like Seascale which provide all the drama and excitement provided by the above…for considerably less money.

*Fortrose & Rosemarkie, Scotland – This has to be one of the best settings for a links course in Britain, squeezed into the Chanonry Peninsula with a lighthouse perched at the end of the headland. The club is celebrating its 125th anniersary this year.

*Borth & Ynyslas, Wales – A quality if underrated links layout which impressively unfolds along the estuary of the River Dovey with stunning views across Cardigan Bay. You’ll use every club in your bag….. and will receive a warm welcome at the fairly recently extended 19th.

*Ballater, Scotland – There is a score of good courses along Royal Deeside and Ballater is one of the best. Playing over a flat plain next to the River Dee, it’s a surprisingly diverse, testing challenge.

*Bedale, North Yorks – One of the oldest courses in North Yorkshire and is as picturesque as they come – the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales in fact.

*Morley Hayes, Derbys (pictured above) – Impressive all round modern golf centre comprising on-site accommopdation with the main parkland layout backed up by while the nine-hole Tower course, ideal for novices and juniors.
