2-FORE!-1 Six of the Best

Looking for a 2-FORE!-1 round to remember? Take your pick from any of these belting layouts and you’ll be in sheer golfing heaven…

*Breadsall Priory (Priory course), Derbys – Pictured: The no.1 choice of two 18-hole courses at this popular Marriott venue, the Priory offers a tight and demanding set of holes around undulating parkland.

*Heythrop Park, Oxfordshire – A 2-FORE!-1 newcomer, this refreshing modern Tom Mackenzie parkland layout plotted within an historic estate. There’s a fine mix of holes though you need to avoid the Jesuits graveyard skirting the left side of the opening hole! Star hole is the stunning driveable par-4 6th though a solid strike is required to clear the river guarding the green.

*Perranporth, Cornwall – This Braid gem dramatically overlooks the popular holiday town’s glorious beach and is full of quirks, twists and turns as you’re regularly required to hit several ‘blind’ drives, usually over giant sand dunes. You’ll never play a more demanding par-3 than Perranporth’s sensational 197-yards 4th.

*Scarcroft, West Yorks – A quality undulating parkland course, laid out in 1937 by Major Charles Mackenzie, close to legendary Leeds layouts Alwoodley and Moortown.

*King James VI, Scotland – Hidden Perthshire Old Tom Morris gem. Historic King James is believed to be Scotland’s only inland island course – it proudly sits on Moncreiffe Island where it has resided since 1897.

*Bridport & West Dorset, Dorset – Intriguing clifftop layout and though not long still provides a sporting challenge, specially the sensational par-3 6th signature hole with the green sitting 90ft below the elevated tee.
