New Titleist 910F fairway woods launched

Titleist have launched their brand new 910F fairway wood models for 2011, designed to give players a choice between versatility and distance/control.

The new line-up includes two different fairway woods – the 910F and the 910Fd.

The 910F is the more traditional fairway wood and has been designed with versatility and all-round performance from either the tee or the fairway/rough in mind.

It features a thin crown and high performance weighting create a low and deep CG for easier launch off the turf. The head has also been designed to be slightly larger than the 909F model for added forgiveness and enhanced confidence in all situations.

But the real difference in the line-up is the 910Fd fairway wood. It has been designed with a larger volume head to aid to provide enhanced distance and control from the tee compared to a traditional fairway metal. A deeper face and larger hitting area inspire the confidence needed to hit the fairway more often.

Titleist say they analysed the usage of fairway woods among a host of better players and found the majority used them more often as a driver replacement off the tee for more accuracy rather than from the fairway itself – hence the reason the 910Fd was born.

In addition, the 910F fairway woods feature the same adjustable SureFit Tour hosel seen in the 910 D2 and D3 drivers.

This means loft and lie can be independently adjusted in any one of 16 positions to promote different flight characteristics.

We’ll have more info and prices on the new 910F fairway woods in an upcoming issue of Today’s Golfer magazine.
