Thorbjørn Olesen has become the latest high-profile player to join Nike Golf and will be playing their new VR_S Covert Tour driver when he tees it up for the first time in 2013 at the Volvo Champions in South Africa.

Danish-born Olesen has joined Americans Nick Watney and Kyle Stanley in the Nike stable, and will be hoping to add more titles to his maiden victory at last year's Sicilian Open.

“Nike is one of the most recognised and respected sport brands in the world,” said Olesen.

“I want to be with a company that focuses on developing products that help me perform at my best. To be part of a brand that respects but challenges the traditions of the game is an honour.”

In addition to the Covert driver, Olesen will also be using the VR Pro Limited Edition woods, VR_S hybrids, VR Pro blades and VR Pro wedges.

The 23-year-old completes his bag with a Method 001 putter and the new 20XI ball.

“Thorbjørn is an exciting and talented athlete,” said Mark Thaxton, Global Director of Sports Marketing Operations at Nike Golf.

“His ability is obvious and since his debut on Tour in 2011 he has shown the kind of consistency that creates champions. We know he will make a great addition to our stable of Nike Golf athletes globally.”
