Nike NG360: The new way to improve

Nike’s new NG360 app can transform the way you look at your game…

Nike’s co-founder, the former University of Oregon coach Bill Bowerman said: “If you’ve got a body, you’re an athlete.” The company’s new NG360 app aims to make golfers think like that, too.

Available free from Apple’s App store, it is designed to help you become a more athletic, better golfer by combining instruction, game tracking stats and fitness tips. It lets you keep score and track key numbers like driving accuracy, fairways hit and putts per hole on more than 5,000 courses in Europe.

“The app helps golfers to maximise their game with easy-to-navigate tools and tutorials,” said Sunny Miller, Global Digital Director for Nike Golf. The updated NG360 App makes tracking and improving simpler, motivating golfers to know their game to better their game.”

The information you input is automatically stored, so you can see trends in your performance, plus the strengths and weaknesses of your game. You can even compare your performance and swing with other NG360 users via social media.

To sharpen your skills, the app lets you video and upload clips of your swing, which you can view in slow motion and stop on any frame. You can compare your swing to those of Nike Tour stars like Paul Casey, Charl Schwartzel and Suzann Pettersen.

To mark the launch of the app, TG has partnered with Nike Golf to bring you an exclusive instruction series over the next four months, in which four readers will input their stats, use the tips and chart their improvement with top Tour coach Hugh Marr. You can follow their progress in the magazine, or via social media. Hugh will also offer some exclusive advice to help you get the most from NG360.

The app has been available in the US for a year, and it’s already been one of iTunes’ top 10 essential sports apps. Now optimised for iPhone 5, it is available for free from the App Store on iPhone and iPod touch. Get involved by downloading it now.
