First Hit: Mizuno JPX850 Forged iron

Published:

After six years in development, Mizuno has infused boron into its Grain Flow Forging process to increase the strength of its forged material by 30 per cent over traditional steel billets. The result for you? Designers could create a thinner face, which increases ball speeds away from the sweetspot, while maintaining a soft feel.

This thinner face is reinforced by a “Power Frame” cavity, which allows the entire face to flex for increased launch and more ball speed in the 4-7-iron. A CNC milled pocket in these irons is said to improve the launch angle and ball speed. RRP £100 (steel), £130 (graphite) per iron. RH & LH.Mizuno JPX850 forged
