“I’m happy to put the clubs away for a while,” said Rory McIlroy, after a DP World Tour Championship victory sealed the Race to Dubai title, his third in four years.
It’s been a long season for 26-year-old McIlroy. As world number three, any season where you don’t win a Major will be tinged with disappointment, but the DP World Tour Championship was McIlroy’s fourth win of the campaign, following success at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, WGC-Cadillac Matchplay and the Wells Fargo Championship.
