Scotty Cameron is a legend in putter circles – he’s milled some of the best putters ever created.
While he’s probably more famous for his exquisite traditional blade and mallet styled putters his Futura range is ever growing in popularity on Tour and in the amateur game.
It’s no surprise then to see the Futura X family extended to incorporate this the new X7. What’s different compared to the X5? Well the construction is the major new development.
The sole and putter face are now milled from a single block of soft 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum, which is then slotted into the stainless steel shell. This means putts are struck from a particularly soft surface, which guarantees cracking feel.
There’s two models: a “Wing Back” which is similar to the X5, whose wings help increase the putters MOI performance; and an all new X7M, whose “Bar Back Design” aids alignment. This model looks to frame the ball visually at address and is perfect for those with a straight back and through putting stroke. As with any self-respecting modern putter there’s also a counter balanced model.
If you’re a scotty fan looking for a high performing MOI putter these are well worth a look. Expect to find them in good golf stores now with an RRP of £320.
