Two new destinations for ClubstoHire

ClubstoHire.com is extending its popular service once again with the addition of two new destinations offering golf club sets more than 5,000km (3,000miles) apart across the Atlantic Ocean.

Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic and the Portuguese island of Madeira become the 25^th and 26^th destinations in a growing list of popular golfing hotspots providing a service that has helped travelling golfers save around $4million in airline excess charges over the past five years.

Sets of the latest Taylormade and Callaway golf clubs will be on offer from €80 to golfers flying into Punta Cana, on the easternmost tip of the Dominican Republic from the 1^st November, with bookings available online from the 15^th October.

After being pre-selected, the full set of clubs will be delivered to the customer’s hotel or resort on arrival and collected before departure.

Punta Cana offers a variety of spectacular courses within a 30-mile radius of the airport, including the Tom Fazio-designed Corales Golf Club and the Jack Nicklaus-inspired Punta Espada – which both rank among the Caribbean’s top ten courses.

“Punta Cana airport welcomed nearly six million international visitors last year and with an average temperature of 30 degrees, it’s a perfect year-round golfing destination,” said CEO Tony Judge.

The move into the Caribbean comes just three months after the successful opening of similar operations in the United States at the prime golf destinations of Orlando, Las Vegas & Phoenix (Scottsdale), Arizona.

These locations were added after last year’s move into Africa (Cape Town & Marrakesh) and Asia (Bangkok, Phuket & Pattaya, Thailand), as increasing numbers of golfers travel to long haul destinations to play in warmer conditions

The Dublin-based company founded in 2010 estimated that it will supply over 75,000 sets of golf clubs to European travellers this year – including those travelling to Madeira. The island south-west of Europe’s mainland joins Lisbon and Faro (the company’s first destination) as the list of Portuguese destinations grows even stronger.

Golfers can pre-book sets online for Madeira at €50 per week from the 15^th November and the clubs become available on 1^st December.

ClubstoHire service is now available from one end of the Mediterranean to the other, with Madeira serving as the most western point through to Belek in Turkey to the east. Permanent shops can be found in airport terminal buildings at Faro and Malaga in Spain with sets from €35 per week.
