A golf robot just made a hole-in-one!

Raymond Kurzweil once said, “There are physical limits to computation, but they’re not very limiting”. What he was getting as is that there isn’t much that computers can’t do, or at least won’t be able to do in the very near future.

We all know that robots are going to take over. Terminator… The Matrix… I, Robot… Ex Machina… Robot Wars… That moment when Siri gets ideas above her station… We’ve had no shortage of warning signs that the intelligence and capabilities of artificial machines will one day supersede that of humans.

Today, strike another one up for the machines, as a robot called Eldrick just got a hole-in-one on the 16th at Scottsdale as part of the build-up to the Waste Management Open. To make matters worse, the adorable bundle of citcuitry did it one-handed.

Sure, the crowd is cheering now, but they won’t be when robots take their jobs, win every monthly medal at their club and make human life obsolete. Wonder if he bought everyone there a drink at the bar?

Still, look at that cute little guy swing!
