Score better in the wind - Putting

So much focus is put into long shots in the wind that we sometimes forget that the conditions can have a dramatic effect on the green, too. Not only do you need to take into and downwind putts into account, you need to build a rock-solid base when you’re putting, as any gust can throw your stroke out of sync. The majority of golfers under-read putts in calm conditions so wind blowing in the same direction as the break can make even a short putt very difficult. Combined with the impact the wind can have on your ball speed it’s easy to see why you need to take care.
In this video, former European Tour player Oliver Whiteley, based at Bramall Park GC, Stockport, explains how to putt in the wind.
