Elea GC, with close ties to the Amathus Beach Hotel, was designed by six-time major winner Sir Nick Faldo. It boasts a breathtaking location alongside the Mediterranean and the par-71 layout incorporates many natural features sympathetic to its stunning surroundings. The relatively flat course, peppered with carob and olive trees, will give higher handicappers a chance of scoring well, while several holes will severely test more advanced players. The lake beside the 5th green puts paid to any hooked shots, and the par-5 12th (stroke index 1) will be a tough test for even the biggest hitters – the bunkers around the green will catch any tentative shots. If the front nine takes it out of you, look forward to the turn. Not only is there a chance for refreshment, but the four holes around the turn offer birdie opportunities to get your round back on track.
